Patricia Panella, President and Treasurer
As Board President Patricia has contributed to the incredible growth the organization has experienced in recent years. She is currently a Senior Vice President at
Brown Harris Stevens. Growing up in a real estate family, it was a natural fit. She started in Education as a Physical Education Teacher and later with a
Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy worked in the NYC Public schools with learning disabled children. Her studies continued with
Modern Psychoanalytic Training at CMPS in Manhattan. Patricia continues to demonstrate her commitment to mental health services, to this organization, and its strong belief in its mission.
Karen C. Phillips, Board Member
Karen C. Phillips has an extensive background in the nonprofit community through her professional and volunteer undertakings. Her professional life began as an admissions counselor, moving on to
Graduate Admissions Counselor at universities in Virginia and New York. She joined the
National Headquarters of the Girl Scouts of the USA, managing the Instructors of the Training Program and currently provides management training and development as well as individual professional coaching. Karen was a member of the Board of Director’s of
The Studio Museum in Harlem and
The Browning School in New York City. In addition, she was
Vice-President of the Parent’s Association at the Browning School and chaired the Book Fair for 3 years, which was one of the major fundraisers of the school.
Currently she sits on the boards of Counseling In Schools, Inc. in New York City and Schools of the Sacred Heart in San Francisco. In addition, she is chair of the Dinner Committee for the annual gala of the International Institute of Education West Coast in San Francisco.
Roberta Parker Woldow
Roberta has enjoyed a career in the education and business sectors. She currently serves on the Board of a mental health services organization that helps students with learning disabilities where she assisted with the capital campaign, and chaired two major fundraising events. Roberta joined the Board in January 2007.
Mary L. Zaks
Mary L. Zaks has an extensive background in the education sector with a focus on strategic planning and institutional development. She has been involved in fundraising activities from book fairs to gala events to chairing a capital campaign. Mary joined the Board in January 2007.
